Loongson's industry influence continues to strengthen, and the construction of its ecosystem is steadily advancing.

According to Loongson Technology, recently, the School of Computer Science at Beihang University successfully taped out two processors, Lain and EULA, based on the Loongson architecture instruction set.

It is reported that both processors have a complete SoC and rich peripheral support. They can not only run the MOS teaching operating system independently designed by the School of Computer Science but also support Linux 5.19 and complex multimedia audio and video software applications.

Among them, the Lain processor focuses on verifying modern CPU mainstream micro-architecture technologies such as multiple issue, out-of-order, and multi-core, while the EULA processor focuses on verifying the chip agile development environment and its full-process design support.

This successful taping out by Beihang University is based on the "Beihang-Loongson Hundred Cores Plan," which was officially launched in 2020 with the goal of undergraduate development and taping out. Led by the School of Computer Science, in conjunction with the School of Integrated Circuits and the School of Software, it jointly explores and practices an interdisciplinary talent training model across colleges, disciplines, and professions. It aims to cultivate scarce top-notch innovative talents with the ability to cover the entire process from CPU, operating system, compiler to chip implementation.

Wang Wenxiang, the chief architect of Loongson Technology, said: "This time, the chip design team of undergraduate students from Beihang University has completed the hardware front-end and back-end design of the CPU core and SoC chip, as well as the software development tasks of the operating system, compiler, and even application software, penetrating the entire technical stack of processor chip design, demonstrating a very high degree of completion, and achieving a full-stack penetration of the design capability of domestically produced and controllable processor chips."Since entering 2024, Loongson has achieved many accomplishments, with the industry ecosystem construction continuously deepening. Loongson has adapted 423 products this year

Loongson Technology basically announces the product adaptation situation of LoongArch architecture on desktops and servers every month. In May 2024, an additional 105 products from 53 companies were added.

This includes 20 business system products, 31 security application system products, 10 cloud platform products, 4 file management products, 4 office reading products, 4 storage backup products, and 32 other products. It can be seen that Zhongwang CAD V2025 Linux and Foxit OFD Office Suite V8.0 for Windows/Linux are both included.

These products cover fields such as medical health, data security, and system management.

So far, Loongson has adapted 423 products in the first five months of 2024, averaging 2.3 products per day.

Loongson 2K0300 touch all-in-one computer released

In May, Loongson Technology officially released the touch all-in-one computer based on the Loongson 2K0300 processor, providing a rich interface, and can be customized at will, and has industrial-grade high quality, safe and reliable.The Loongson 2K0300 is an embedded processor based on the completely independent LoongArch instruction set architecture, featuring a single LA264 core, dual issue, a 10-stage pipeline, with a main frequency of 1GHz and power consumption below 1W, offering the advantages of high performance and low cost.

The Loongson 2K0300 touch all-in-one core board integrates 1GB DDR4 memory and 8GB eMMC storage, especially the non-volatile ferroelectric memory, which does not lose data after power-off.

The display supports capacitive 5-point touch without blind spots, LED backlight, a resolution of 1024x600, and a brightness of 450 nits.

Interfaces are comprehensive, including a 12-24V power supply, 1 Ethernet port, 10 GPIOs, 1 CAN bus, 2 RS-485 buses, 4 serial ports, 1 OTG, 1 microSD/TF card slot, 2 USB HOSTs, 1 LCD (RGB signal), 1 audio, 1 RTC, 1 buzzer, 1 REST button, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0.

WeChat Linux native version officially supports the domestic Loong architecture, and basic functions have been fully migrated.

In March, Loongson Zhongke officially announced that the WeChat Linux native version successfully started and ran on the Loong architecture platform terminal, and was distributed in the application store of the operating system manufacturer.

It is reported that this WeChat (Universal) is a large-scale version reconstruction and update based on the native cross-platform solution, aiming to gradually achieve consistency in functions and update pace between the WeChat Windows/Mac/Linux versions.The basic functions of the WeChat client have been successfully migrated to the Loong architecture platform, supporting domestic operating systems such as UOS, Kylin, and Loongnix. It also supports practical features like large file transfer, group management, two-person video calls, one-click video account activation, mini-programs, search, and more.

Files up to 1GB can be sent and received, and you can set group names, group nicknames, and your own nickname within the group. During two-person video calls, you can turn the camera on or off at any time. You can receive messages from video accounts, and with one click, open more content, including video accounts, mini-programs, search, and look around.

Loongson Technology also stated that in the future, it will continue to carry out adaptation and optimization work with the WeChat client, to accelerate the iteration and optimization of functions, and achieve efficiency upgrades.
